Cunca Wulang Waterfall

Cunca Wulang is a beautiful waterfall located in the Manggarai region on the western part of Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Indonesia. It is one of the popular natural attractions in the area, known for its stunning beauty and the surrounding lush, green landscapes. The name "Cunca Wulang" is derived from the local Ruteng language, with "Cunca" meaning "waterfall" and "Wulang" meaning "moon," thus giving the waterfall its poetic name, which can be translated as "Moon Waterfall."

  1. Scenic Beauty: Cunca Wulang is famous for its picturesque setting, where the waterfall cascades down into a natural pool surrounded by steep cliffs and dense jungle. The area around the waterfall is filled with vibrant vegetation, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere.
  2. Waterfall Characteristics: The waterfall drops from a height of around 30 meters (about 98 feet) and flows into a clear, turquoise-colored pool. The water is cool and refreshing, especially after a hike to the waterfall. Visitors can swim in the natural pool, making it a popular spot for tourists seeking relaxation and adventure.
  3. Location and Access: Cunca Wulang is located approximately 30 kilometers southeast of Ruteng, the capital of Manggarai regency.
